Brighter Futures for More Children, Thanks to Costco Wholesale

Brianna’s mom Elisabeth says Children’s National Hospital saved her baby girl’s life. She had multiple heart surgeries as an infant. Now almost 2 years old, Brianna is Children’s National 2021 Miracle Network Champion. Her family recently visited Costco #340, in Fredericksburg, Va. to celebrate the company’s 34th annual May is for Miracles campaign. During the activity, the Scott family decorated cupcakes, enjoyed pizza and showed their appreciation for Costco employees’ and members’ incredible support of Children’s National.

Employees, members, and local business partners of the 19 Costco Wholesale locations across the Washington, D.C. region raised $958,987 for Children’s National this year. That’s 69% more than the 2020 campaign, and 11% more than 2019!

We’d like to give a special shout out to Costco #204 in Fairfax, Va, #334 in Chantilly, Va, and #1124 in Wheaton, Md, for each raising more than $60,000 for Children’s National. These stores are among the Top 5 out of 95 locations in the Northeast region. Three warehouses also more than doubled their 2020 fundraising totals: #1124 in Wheaton, Md, #1039 in Brandywine, Md, and #337 in Leesburg, Va. Congratulations and thanks to all!

Additional thanks to the following businesses who pledged their support by donating $1,000 or more to their local Costcos:

We are so grateful for what Costco has accomplished. Together, we are helping children grow up stronger.
