Kapiolani CMN Champion, Haumea grateful for Costco!

Haumea Friel is Kapiolani Children’s Miracle Network Champion for 2020. Haumea has triumphed over adversity when it comes to what she calls her “super leg.” She even named her prosthetic “Sparkle.” She is a big fan of Costco in Hawaii and shares this message with their associates who work hard every day to support her and other keiki across the state. To date, Costco associates, members and customers in Hawaii have raised millions of dollars for Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, most of it one dollar at a time. Costco funds are vital to Kapiolani, as they support critical programs and services, including the funding of the new Pediatric Heart Center that is vital to caring for pediatric patients with heart conditions. Thanks to Costco fundraising this type of heart care and so many others services are made possible at Kapiolani. Some of those other specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric care, critical care transport and maternal fetal medicine.
