Costco’s May Fundraising Campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® in Full Swing

Donations during the annual campaign stay local to benefit local children’s hospitals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (May 23, 2024) – Costco Wholesale’s annual May fundraising campaign to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is currently in full swing. Throughout this month, Costco employees, members, and suppliers are joining forces to raise critical funds for local member children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. Last year, thanks to the incredible generosity and dedication of the Costco community, $52 million was raised. This year, the big box retailer is determined to surpass this remarkable achievement.

The funds raised during this campaign directly contribute to life-saving equipment, charitable care, research, and patient services at local hospitals of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. These donations are essential in providing support to families facing severe medical challenges, ensuring they receive the comprehensive care and resources they need.

Supporting Families Like the Rimels

The impact of these donations can be seen in stories like that of the Rimel family. Nicole and Scott Rimel, Costco employees from Albuquerque, New Mexico, experienced firsthand the profound support provided by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals when their daughter, Natalie, was diagnosed with multiple types of brain tumors.

Natalie’s journey began at the age of 10 with the diagnosis of an inoperable brain tumor. Despite undergoing intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments, her battle with cancer persisted, culminating in the discovery of a third tumor, a germinoma, in 2023. Throughout this harrowing experience, the Rimel family found solace and support through the resources provided by their local children’s hospital.

Nicole Rimel shared, “Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provided so many resources for us. They made our situation more positive and gave us hope during our toughest times.”
